Your honesty has given me a renewed view on the community that I lived in and loathed because of its insular nature.
I applaud you and and the family.
Frankly, I think "y'all" needed something to help you shed your "innocence" and wake up the community to what really exists outside of the idyllic environs of Abercorn Street,- I am truly sorry that it took this type of tragedy. No one deserves such evil among them, but after the fact-there must be some good even through the pain and suffering. May the family find strength, consolation and healing and may you continue to be ever vigilant and all your children be safe and healthy. -

Are you suggesting he was cheating, stealing and lying in business, as well as disguising his yetser hara?
If so, he has real problems. I feel for him even though none can condone what he has done. How could someone who understood the legal ramifications of agency lose all rationality and cross state lines, sending money through the mails, setting himself up for a Federal sentence?
It's counter-intuitive, true ruach shtus. Let's give some credit to the yetser hara. I'd love to know if the fatal flaws carry over into other areas, but if you cannot support this allegation, that he lied and cheated on more than his wife and family and community image, face reality: Shmuel has done bad things and will pay the price b'pumbi, but how different are the bad things everyone else does, especially in the eyes of the Judge of All who can't be bought and knows what's true. Are you prepared to testify to financial fraud against your own family's agency? -

This person Schmuel is off..way off.
November 21, 2001..His stock broker
license was suspended from NASD.His crimes are far reaching, not only against children but against clients. He thought that he was above the law in so many ways.
HE GOT CAUGHT,Thank G-D--before other people were hurt. He's trash! -

The bad things that Schmul did are BAD..No, not everyone goes after children. Not everyone cheats in business and has his securities licience taken away. That all on record. He's quite a bit different that the vast masjority of people that I know. This is evil personified.

You bet that I'm suggusting "bad things" that Schmuel has done. The other poster was correct in stating that his licience was pulled Nov.21,2001. At that time,
"Gee,Dad, I didn't know you can't forge names on documents" "I'm sorry"..was accepted. He got away with it..Above the law..
Then on to the children ! WOW !
Now the latest..He has thousands of $$$ in unauthorized charges to the firm that he was working for. THOUSANDS..to back up his high style life.
One sick,cunning,devious person.
About time everyone opened their eyes to the criminal and evil activity he was engaged in,all the while leading the services on Shabbos. -

I'm certainly stating that he was cheating,lying & stealing in business. His stock brokers licience was taken away in November,2001 because he got caught forging signatures on documents. At that time,it was "Gee,I'm really sorry..I didn't know you had to have a "resl" signature"...That's when he joined the insurance company..after all,he had to make a living. Then on to the kids...
or jnust continued with the kids..control,control,control.
All that is stasted is of record.

Stealing ! You bet. Charged thousands of $$$ for unauthorized charges to the firm and to his father in law, to maintain his outlandish life style and his "suits". Family is to nice to take any additional action against him, but he stole their money.
Lying in business. You bet. Going on business trips, i.e. to Birmingham. Some business meeting little boys !
This guy was and is a despit, an evil person, hiding behind his tallis. Cheating,stealing & Lying,you bet ! A child molester,you bet ! -

I don't know him personally so will not defend him. I wouldn't want to be his lawyer either.
If he dressed well, I'm certain his inlaws wanted their grandchildren well dressed too.
I feel for his children who will carry this stigma and be deprived of whatever positives there were to him for a long time.
His moral failings don't reflect well on the Jewish community. -

You should be grateful that this deviant sociopath was found out now. His children are not being deprived of anything other than a deceptive father who would unavoidably instill in his innocent kids values like "if no one knows about it, it's okay" and "feigning ignorance is a great ruse". Apparently it was all a big show to him and Savannah is a great place to put on a show.
He is a sick individual and the biggest bracha these kids could ever receive was to have him removed from their upbringing.
I only hope he does not use the giving of a "Get" as yet another means of exercising control over people, because he certainly could.
May God have mercy on his soul for the damage he has caused. -

Once sentenced, having arranged his own fate, he will languish for many, many years, with substandard food, medical care and clothing. No suits. He will sweat, stigimitized by a violent population for being both pervy and a Jew. The punishment should be a source of comfort to his victims. A hell of his own creation.
If he was caught previously, and the victims didn't speak out, I don't believe there was a conspiracy. They didn't destroy his reputation. He did. As he reflects on everything he's done wrong, this truth will eventually, say in ten or twenty years, catch up with him. -

O.K. I agree. Don't put him in prison for 70 years..35 years will do the trick. by that time he will be 65 years old and hopefully leave the kids alone.
What do we gain by him in prison ? A guarantee that he won't be able to molest the children.. -

How do you know he's a 1st time offender ? How long has this been going on with this person ? Are you suggusting he get a light sentence ? What if he abused your child..whould you want him on the street again..This guy is a despot,an evil person..Stock brokers licence taken away, stole thousands from his firm, molested children..and you want to forgive him ?? !!
Since all this has come out I have experienced a whole gamut of emotions; shock, disbelief, sadness, depression and lastly disgust. To know that people knew he was a menace to children and did not expose this, thereby allowing him access to children and being able to harm them.
I live in the wonderful community of Savannah, GA where when this was publicized, Shuls and schools talked openly about this kind of situation to both children and parents. This was not brushed under the rug. (Perhaps Baltimore can learn from our small community, expose the problem, the issues of molestation. Only then can the healing process begin and hopefully ensuring that this can never happen again.
The family here was more concerned about the children that might have been harmed. Yes, it caused us anguish and I say us because I am part of that family, but we, as adults, have a responsibility to protect innocent children from monsters such as him. Do not feel sorry for him saying that this was not the real Shmuel and that it was almost like he was two people. He is an animal, a wolf in sheep’s clothing that planned his attack well. He married a sweet and innocent young woman. She believed what he said after all he was her husband, the man she loved. He disguised himself well in the community, helping all kinds of organizations. But at the same time, cheating, stealing, and lying.
HE HAS STOLEN OUR INNOCENCE! BECAUSE OF HIM OUR LIVES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!
