Message From The Awareness Center to the Vaad Ha Rabbonim of Baltimore
The Awareness Center has a suggestion for the Vaad Ha Rabbonim of Baltimore.

Every day a child in our community is being sexually abused. These children grow up to be adult survivors. Often these survivors are unable to hold jobs or pay for therapy with therapists with the proper qualifications to deal with sexual victimization issues.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the rabbis in our community lent their support to help organize fundraisers that could assist in meeting the financial, emotional and spiritual needs of these survivors?
It can happen! The rabbi of an Orthodox shul in St. Louis did just this. Rabbi Ze'ev Smason was the rabbi who created a foundation to help survivors. He helped found 'Our Precious Children'. He got the idea after learning that an alleged sex offender was volunteering at a youth group that was being run in his shul. Rabbi Smason did all the right things. He was also a major force behind the arrest of the alleged offender.
We are all told that miracles can happen -- so perhaps the Vaad Ha Rabbanim of Baltimore would work with The Awareness Center to accomplish this goal.
