They took the "Frum" out of Frumster a long time ago. They used to delete anyone who admitted not being Orthodox. They now welcome anyone.

You think he's the only dangerous freak on Frumster? There are plenty where he came from. One guy, a lawyer from Boro Park, was harassing women he met through AOL. The NYPD paid him a visit after receiving complaints. He presents himself as being much, much younger than his years. When he comes to pick girls up for a date and they see he's quite old, they refuse to get in the car with him. He then starts badmouthing them with all kinds of vulgar sexual innuendo and posting their names & phone numbers all over the internet. He has done the same thing to girls who organize singles parties if they bar him from entering because of an age cut off.

One more jerk in Boro Park is even older, actually a senior citizen who owns a travel agency. He tells girls to stop by his workplace where he propositions them for sex.

Frumster absolutely hates it when their unlisted phone number gets in people's hands:

Vicky is David Mandel right? Can a molester be cured? If hes wrong how is Ohel Family Services helping victims?

http://www.thejewishweek.com/news/newscontent.php3?artid=12593&print=yes

Following Rabbi Twerski, Mandel spoke about ways to engage children in conversations about sex abuse. Mandel noted that it was up to the parents to engage their children because most victims do not come forward due to shame, fear of their abusers, a sense of loyalty to their abusers and/or concern about being stigmatized.

However, when an audience member asked whether sex education could help to strengthen children's knowledge of inappropriate behaviors and empower them to come forward if someone violated them, Mandel responded that sex education was "not something realistic" in a community that stresses modesty.

He told parents that the overwhelming majority of children who have experienced "unwanted touch" would go on to live happy, healthy lives, while only a "small percentage" of individuals would be permanently harmed by the abuse

Mandel also said that abusers could be treated for their perversions.

"An individual who abuses children and who participates in treatment can lead a successful life and be believed that they would no longer hurt children," Mandel said.

When asked, in an interview the following day, whether such people could work with children again, Mandel evaded the question.

How can anyone in their right mind go to Ohel? They are clueless in doing anything for either victims or offenders.

If I remember correctly Frumster # 60206 (aka: Jonathan Meyer) studied on the campus of Ohr Somayach in Monsey, New York.

I've been reading about convicted sex offender Rabbi Alan Horowitz. It appears that after he was convicted he also attended the Monsey campus of Ohr Somayach. One has to wonder if there's a pattern there?

When I called a particular organization regarding Jonathan's behavior they asked me to call Rabbi Avrohom Braun to share my experience.

I never called because I was too ashamed of what happened and I didn't want anyone to know this man touched me.

I wish JS would post one of the photographs up on frumster of Jonathan to warn other women about him. No other women should go out with him.

Modern Orthodox Machmir means to me

To be able to integrate the world, travel, culture etc. with a desire to always grow as a spiritual halachic Jew. Enjoying life without having to look for loopholes.
This is how I describe myself:

My friends describe me as easygoing, spiritual, spontaneous, warm, worldly, and having a tendency to entertain guests. I value open communication, humor, and I'm always looking for ways to grow and better myself: spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Having an open (within reason), welcoming kiruv-and-community oriented home and family is important to me.
I'm always looking for growth opportunities with my Jewish studies, profession, hobbies, personal journey and various other interests. However number 1 on my list has been and remains family. I'm very active and enjoy participating in almost every traditional sport, the gym, as well as recreational sports including rock- climbing (occasionally), skiing, hiking, traveling and culture (film, theater, art etc.) I am very open-minded within Halacha.
I want to build together with my soul mate an amazingly open, honest, sharing relationship while raising a home with good/healthy values, a lot of love, and sharing.
I grew up with traditional orthodox values; however, over time I developed a Bal-Teshuva sou :) I did most of my "true" religious/spiritual growing and learning in Bal-Teshuva yeshiva's and organizations, and most recently under the mentoring of an amazing and open-minded Rabbi. I have a double master's in School Psychology, and Clinical Social Work. I love what I do and enjoy a nice variety of working for a hospital, as well as a private practice. I'm also an orthodox Yoga/Health & Fitness instructor.
I got married when we were both young (relatively 25) and we got an amicable mutual agreed upon civil divorce and get without any litigation B'H. I consider myself blessed to have had a very amicable divorce, and a beautiful daughter.

This is what I am looking for in a

You are distinctive! You are a warm and worldly, sensitive and smart, nurturing, natural, and easy-going. You are worldly-wise, value open communication, benevolent humor, and are always looking for ways to grow and better yourself: spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Having an open, welcoming kiruv-and-community oriented home and family is important to you, and you are very open-minded within Halacha. Perhaps you enjoy Sunday hikes, travel, music, and other creative outlets?

I need someone who will live in the Tri-state area (as I have a daughter who lives in NY and I am very close with her) , at least for the next few years then the world is our oyster :) I do not prefer long distant relationships so NY, NJ, CT, and PA is more realistic but not mandatory.

Gerer mesivtah, The end of an era with leizerowitz and his enabler "Big Dave OLewski".

The gerer cheder yeshiva yagdil torah on 18th & 52 is starting a 9th grade this elul so that the boys will not be joining the mesivta, and the following year they along with the boys finishing the 8th grade will be the first grades entering the new gerer mesivtah, exact details not yet known, but it seems as if the oilem had enough of this false rav in the gerer bais din that knew about leizerowitz for some 15-20 years and he did nothing, not even an investigation, all he said was those boys are shvacher bochrim, it can't be true,

I know this is an old post, but does anyone here know of a site like dontdatehimgirl specifically for people who are Jewish? I was lied to and manipulated repeatedly by a man I met on Frumster. I know that he has done the same to other women, but believe he hasn't been caught before and I'd love post him somewhere to warn other women. There are no other entries for Frumster guys on dontdatehimgirl though. To the 2nd poster, there are many many "Orthodox" men who lie and cheat and abuse; limiting Frumster to only "Orthodox" people would not help things in this regard.
