The remand of an ultra-Orthodox teacher employed at a Tel Aviv Beit Midrash was extended Friday, after he confessed to sexually assaulting his students over a two-year period.

According to suspicions, the teacher, 29, assaulted at least ten children ranging in age from 8 to 12.

The authorities' involvement in the case started a week ago, after the parents of one of the rape victims - a nine-year-old boy - filed a police complaint.

The ensuing investigation revealed a series of sexual abuse cases perpetrated against a number of young victims.

The teacher fled to a yeshiva in Jerusalem, where he remained in hiding for two days until he was arrested Thursday night.

The teacher will be indicted after police officers submits evidence to the prosecution next week.
