Rabbi Blau said tonight that he is one of only about 4 rabbis who have been taking calls from the public about abuse, who do not dismiss allegations as soon as they hear them. He said they are exhausted and need other rabbis to step up to the plate and help.
Why don't some more rabbis out there get off their butts and help out ??!!

Someone who was in attendance, emailed this report from the Saturday night forum to a group of friends. I have deleted the private conversation this fellow had with Rabbi Blau, in case someone is upset it gets out. Parts of the lengthy email have also been truncated:
This motzaei Shabbos, there was a forum in the Eitz Chaim shul on yeshiva abuse cover ups that I attended. On the panel moderated by the mora d'asra R' Moshe Rosenberg, was R' Yosef Blau, Gil Student & The Forward's editor JJ Goldberg. It was a shame that Rabbi Rosenberg invited this Conservative, anti-Frum journalist to attend, who took advantage of the opportunity to bash Rubashkin and whip up the crowd into a laugh-at-Lakewood frenzy. (I'm no fan of Rubashkin, but this wasn't the time to focus on it) Goldberg said that the OU is extremely embarrassed about the Conservative coming out with the "Tzedek hechsher" to prevent abuse of employees at Rubashkin, and are being forced to come up with their own plan that incorporates the Conservative ideas. He said the OU denies it, but he has inside information about secret meetings. Goldberg, who has a surprising command of yeshivishe shprach, ridiculed the Lakewood roshei yeshiva who he says ... are now secretly instructing talmidim at BMG to not let outsiders know what they are thinking about goyim. Goldberg moralized that he is saving Klal Yisroel from corruption when he exposes wrongdoings. He thinks that an obscure sefer on goyim (that sold 45 copies) is just as bad as Pell grant fraud I guess. He let the crowd in on a detail never published before. When the Senate held a special hearing on Pell grant fraud, every single name on the list was a chassidishe or yeshivishe figure. Someone gave the list to the ADL, whose Abe Foxman called John McCain to complain that it looks like an anti-Semitic witch hunt and that neo-Nazis will have a field day with it. John McCain wrote back that he cannot help that only Yidden committed fraud, so the hearings will continue.
R' Yosef Blau said that since the Aguda or even the RCA has not done anything to track offenders with a registry, it is therefore mutter le'halocho to check the Awareness Center website to see who is accused of abuse. Repeating the psak of R' Hershel Schechter, he said that if you know for a fact that no one will do anything to stop an abuser, you are allowed to make a UOJ style attack on the internet.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, RAV BLAU SAID THAT PRESSURE FROM THE OYLAM IS WHAT EFFECTS THE BIGGEST CHANGE. IT FORCED CHANGE AT THE OU / NCSY WITH LANNER AND MOST RECENTLY, PRESSURE IS WHAT FORCED SHIA FISHMAN OUT OF TORA UMESORA. HE SAID THE YESHIVISHE VELT MUST PRESSURE THE AGUDA OTHERWISE THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. RAV BLAU SAID THAT A VERY DEPRESSING SIGN THAT WILL HINDER PROGRESS IS THE PATHETIC PARENT BODY OF TORA TEMIMA. HE DOESN'T KNOW A SINGLE CASE OF PARENTS PULLING THEIR SONS OUT OF YTT, WHICH SENDS A SIGNAL THAT YOU CAN ABUSE CHILDREN WHICH MARGO OR ANYONE ELSE WILL TAKE AS THEIR QUEUE THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT. MOST MOLESTERS HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN PUBLICLY EXPOSED & WILL CONTINUE TO DESTROY NESHOMOS. (Editor's note: Eli Greenwald took his kids out of Torah Temimah. He arose to defend Kolko's victims which led Margulies, Rabbi Geldwerth & Rabbi Belsky to lead a campaign of intimidation & harassment against him.)
It's beyond me why Gil Student is repeatedly given the podium at events like he's some kind of expert, but he was busy telling the crowd about how talmidei yeshivos (he went on to list a number of yeshivos) are tummeling about what's on UOJ. He said wherever he goes in Brooklyn, everyone is talking about UOJ. He said that at the Tora Vodaas minyan in the East 30s, (Rav Sekula?) yelled at his mispallelim for reading the blog. After going on & on about how "obnoxious" UOJ is, he kept contradicting himself about how in his view, blogs are assur, yet a necessity. Gil said that he cannot personally fight for change because he has a bad reputation in the yeshivishe velt (for defending Slifkin, etc). He said his wife is "scared to death" that their children will one day be thrown out of yeshiva and that no one in yeshivish circles will do shidduchim with them. He said if that happens, he will just go back back to his modern orthodox roots in Teaneck, NJ. I confronted Gil Student afterwards and asked him if it's true that he is friends with Margo's hired hit man Tuvya Chaim Neuhoff. He admitted that they are friends. I asked how he can justify Neuhoff running an obscenity laced blog that attacks people trying to stop abuse. He gave me a wishy washy answer that Rav Belsky told him to do it and that Neuhoff also wanted to hear what R' Aron Schechter had to say but that R' Aron was "out of town". He said that after R' Aron reappeared on the scene, he told Neuhoff to cut it out. This is ridiculous because Neuhoff was blogging for months. I also asked Gil what he thinks of his buddy Neuhoff being on Margo's payroll. Gil said he has no first hand knowledge if that is the case & he plans on asking Neuhoff if it is true. Oh Pleeeeease .....
It's really a shame that this Jewish woman, Dr. Block, who runs a business of high fee eroticism coaches and a hedonistic club, is taking advantage of the sex abuse problem.
